Walter Lin
Walter graduated from University of Toronto’s Computer Science program.
Walter features a theoretical, grounded, yet passionate and fun style that makes him an absolute favourite among our students and parents.
He is passionate in helping students reaching their maximum potential by mentoring them to discover their strengths through tutoring, and in helping parents to better understand their children’s struggles and weaknesses, so parents can also become the best support to their children outside of classrooms.
Walter spends his free time understanding ongoing education related events, gaming, listening to music, exercising calisthenics, and reading books on emotional health, so he stays relatable to his students and can communicate smoothly with them at all times.
Thanh Nguyen
Thanh (pronounced as “time“, but replace “m“ with “n“)is currently a 3rd-year student in University of Toronto studying Computer Science.
Thanh features a logical teaching style for math and sciences that is easy for students to understand and follow. He is also dedicated in helping students build firm knowledge foundations, which smoothens their future learnings.
Thanh was selected for dean list on his first year on academic excellence, and selected for a Research Program for an AI development project funded by his university on his second year, when most of his colleagues are Master and Doctoral degree students.
Thanh likes to keep his physical health in tip-top shape by weekly weight training and biking consistently on his free time.
Hareem Younas
Hareem is currently a 4th year student studying accounting in York University.
Hareem features a cautious yet hands-on style. As she understands the most common pain points when learning English, she constantly lets students develop ideas and polish their opinions on the spot, asks questions that force them to jump out of the habit of “just following along“ and prompts them to critically think, so they can develop strong, and fully-fleshed opinions in writing.
Hareem has also written a handful of stories and short work that were published on her university’s featured magazine.
Hareem enjoys cooking and reading and traveling on her spare time.
Joyce Wong
Joyce graduated from University of Toronto’s Psychology Program.
Joyce is passionate in assisting others to regulate emotions healthily and efficiently, alongside with a strong ability to put herself into others’ shoes when counselling.
Joyce is professionally trained and has experiences in teenagers emotional counselling, suicide intervention, and has helped Alight greatly in designing our parent follow-up system, and operating our emotional counselling service.
Joyce keeps reading and meditating as a consistent hobby of hers.
Emily Magajna
Emily is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in literature studies in McGill University.
As our most knowledgeable teacher, Emily has contributed greatly in hand-picking the suitable materials, exercises for our students. She desires students to gain strong foundations, yet develop critical mindsets in approaching English related topics, such as reading literature, articles, and writing.
She bolsters a relatable style and yet a style that constantly engages students’ in critical, independent thinking, so that students are not “just following status-quo“ when learning.
Emily enjoys playing RPG games as another source of literature with deep, well-crafted stories and music that engage her on her free time.
Daniel Ou
Daniel is a 2nd year student currently pursuing entry to medical science studies in McGill University.
Daniel has great eagerness in helping others, as he is very engaged in community work by constantly volunteering for local non-profit organizations.
He features a teaching style that is relatable, yet compassionate. Such approach enables smooth communication between him and his students as students often feel very safe to ask questions when in class.
Daniel enjoys playing volleyball, biking and gaming on his free time.
